કીર્તન મુક્તાવલી
(૧) મને પ્રગટ મળ્યા પુરુષોત્તમ આજ
આ તો કસ્તૂરીનું ખાતર
તા. ૨૦/૧૨/૧૯૮૭ની સાંજે હકડેઠઠ ભરાયેલી રવિસભામાં “કરોડ રૂપિયા હોય ને એક દોકડો ખોવાય...” એ ‘સ્વામીની વાત’ પર અમૃતધારા વરસાવતાં પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજે જણાવ્યું: “જેને ભગવાનનો મહિમા સમજાય તેને કોઈ વાતની ગણતરી ન રહે. કોઈ વાતનું દુઃખ ન મનાય. પ્રાપ્તિનો કેફ રહે...”
આટલું કહેતાં તેઓએ એક હાથ ઊંચો કરી ‘મને પ્રગટ મળ્યા પુરુષોત્તમ આજ, આનંદ અંતર છાઈ રહ્યો...’ પદ ઝિલાવવું શરૂ કર્યું. આવી વિરલ સ્મૃતિ મળતાં આખી સભા હિલોળે ચડી. સૌ બુલંદ અવાજે કીર્તનની કડીઓ ઝીલવા લાગ્યા. ત્રણેક પંક્તિઓ આમ ઝિલાવી સ્વામીશ્રીએ આગળ વાત ઉપાડી કે:
“આવું બળ હોય એને વાંધો જ ન આવે. આ કેફમાં જ રહેવું. શું? ‘આ તો ઠીક છે, આવી પડ્યા...’ એવું નહીં. કોનો સંબંધ થયો છે! લોકમાં કોઈને સારો વેવાઈ મળી જાય તોય કેફ રહે છે તો આ તો સાક્ષાત્ પુરુષોત્તમ મળ્યા. પ્રાપ્તિ કેટલી મોટી છે! કરોડ જન્મેય ન મળે એવી!! ને ન મનાય તો ખોટ પણ એટલી જ. આ તો કસ્તૂરીનું ખાતર. લાભ થાય તોય મોટો ને ન સમજાય તો ખોટ પણ મોટી. માટે મહિમા ને કેફ અખંડ રાખવો. મનુષ્યદેહે જે પામવાનું છે એ વસ્તુ મળી છે.”

(1) Mane pragaṭ maḷyā Puruṣhottam āj
On December 20, 1987, Pramukh Swami Maharaj was explaining the Swamini Vat: “If one has one million dollars and one cent is lost...” during the full evening assembly. He explained, “One who understands the greatness of God does not consider anything else as important. He never feels misery and remains blissfully ecstatic...”
Then, Swamishri raised his hands and started singing ‘Mane pragat malyā Purushottam āj, ānand antar chhāi rahyo...’, causing the whole assembly to cheerfully echo. After singing 3 or 4 lines, Swamishri continued,
“If one has such strength [of having attained the manifest form of God], then he has no issues. One should remain happily like this. But one should not think: ‘This is good and all... he [the Satpurush] came and we are stuck with him...’ If someone gets a good father-in-law, one feels extremely lucky. But we have attained the manifest form of God. How great is the attainment! One cannot attain him even after a billion births. If one cannot believe this, the loss is just as great. This is like manure made of musk (i.e. manure that gives off good fragrance like the rare musk.) If one realizes this, then the benefit is immeasurable, and if one does not, the loss is immeasurable. Therefore, understand the greatness and be blissful constantly. What one was to have attained with this human body, one has attained already.”
